One of the most important factors in a flourishing band program is the development of the individual player. We strongly encourage private lessons as a means for becoming more successful. Our private lesson teachers are carefully interviewed and selected by the district Fine Arts Director. With a few exceptions, the students in our band classes who are the most accomplished are actively involved in our private lesson program. 

Lessons are once a week at a cost of $25.00 per lesson. If teaching schedules permit, private lessons are taught during band class. Otherwise, private lessons are taught before or after school at Danny Jones MS, Mary Lillard Intermediate, or another MISD campus. We have an excellent staff of private teachers and we hope that you will seriously consider taking part in this program. The more students that take private lessons, the better our band program will be! To enroll, contact the private teacher to arrange a weekly lesson time. Private lesson teachers’ schedules fill up fast, so contact an approved teacher ASAP!
